UU team co-leads at Naturescapes Annual Meeting, Trinity College Dublin (September 3–5, 2025)

The Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) nature-based solutions team travelled to Dublin for the Naturescapes Annual Meeting. As Trinity College Dublin is a partner in both projects—ClimEx-PE and Naturescapes—the visit also served to coordinate activities across the two initiatives. Katrin Merfeld and Jessica Lillquist, PhD met Dr Patrick Morrissey (TCD, ClimEx-PE) to review the current project status. Lillquist participated in Naturescapes group sessions on NBS values, governance and economic benefits.

ClimEx-PE impact

  • Alignment of ClimEx-PE × Naturescapes milestones and data needs with TCD.

  • Progress on WP5 planning (stakeholder interviews, access pathways, timing).

  • Concrete governance/finance/value insights identified for testing in ClimEx-PE pilot contexts.

Why this matters (Naturescapes × ClimEx-PE):
The Dublin meetings strengthened the bridge between the two projects: Naturescapes advances conceptual work on NBS values, governance and economics, while ClimEx-PE provides operational MAR/NBS pilots to apply and validate these insights—creating a productive two-way link.
