ClimEx-PE's Inspiring Journey at the EU Mission Restore Our Ocean and Waters Forum"

The ClimEx-PE project team recently had the honor of being invited by the European Commission to participate in the prestigious event “Connecting Mission Projects for Ocean, Seas, and Inland Waters,” held during the 3rd Annual Forum of the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2050. Jessica Lillquist, a dedicated team member from Utrecht University, represented ClimEx-PE at the event on March 3rd 2025 in Brussels.
Jessica had the opportunity to immerse herself in a wealth of knowledge about other innovative projects supported by the EU Mission and Water4All. She also engaged with peers who are passionately working on critical issues related to water resources management. The keynote speakers at the event highlighted the pivotal role of these projects as ‘navigators,’ charting new paths for future decision-making in the face of evolving environmental and societal challenges.
One of the most inspiring moments for Jessica was the breakout session on public mobilization. This session showcased various projects' efforts to enhance community engagement, education, and public participation. The insights gained here provided valuable ideas for ClimEx-PE’s own engagement strategies.
The event was not just a learning experience but also a platform for networking and inspiration. Connecting with other research teams invigorated the ClimEx-PE team, providing fresh perspectives and motivation for the next steps in their project.
