Introducing the NaBa-MAR Educational Material: A New Resource for Students and Stakeholders

We are excited to announce the completion of our educational material introducing the NaBa-MAR concept, created by Attila Varga, Álmos Szőcs, Brigitta Czauner, Ádám Tóth, and Judit Mádl-Szőnyi. This resource is designed to engage high school and university students, landowners, local residents, and decision-makers. One of its primary goals is to provide accessible and comprehensible information to a broad audience.

Additionally, the project aims to collect data to meet our KPI requirements, specifically regarding the reach of our educational content and the enhancement of knowledge among participants. To achieve this, we conduct a pre-test to assess initial knowledge before the presentation, followed by a post-test to measure learning outcomes.

The developed lesson has been tested twice so far. The first test group consisted of Human Ecology MA students. The second test session was held on April 30, 2025, targeting undergraduate students in Earth Sciences and Environmental Studies. During this session, project researchers participated to ensure that everyone can effectively present the lesson to their own students.

During the second session, Attila Varga conducted the pre- and post-tests, while Judit Mádl-Szőnyi delivered the presentation. Álmos Szőcs facilitated a group activity where students created a mind map on contemporary water challenges and later engaged the groups by asking them about potential solutions to the identified problems.

This lesson contributes significantly to the success of the ClimEx-PE project by:

  • Enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration: Sharing expertise across different faculties and disciplines.

  • Improving methodological approaches: Gaining valuable insights and feedback to refine our processes.

  • Fostering continuous improvement: Identifying areas for further development through collaborative observation.

  • Expanding international cooperation: Sharing collective experiences with our international partners.

  • Boosting public engagement: Actively involving various community stakeholders to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of environmental challenges.

We are confident that these efforts will drive the ClimEx-PE project towards achieving its goals and making a meaningful impact.
